Fremont sent the Orchard View Cardinals “packing” as they responded to a first half deficit and won going away 38-23.

Trailing 16-12 at half time highlighted by a Cardinal 59-yard scoring pass play, the Packers reeled off four touchdowns in the second half largely through the scoring prowess of Jared Smith who scored three of them and totaled 150 yards for the game.

Orchard View scored two touchdowns of their own plus a field goal in the first half, but their defense could not hold off Smith and the Packers backfield.

Mike Parker had a big night for OV as he caught 5 passes for 171 yards and made 8 tackles and blocked two extra points.

His teammate quarterback Logan Duzan was 6-of-15 passing for a whopping 236 yards.

Izzy Corona sparked the OV defense securing 11 tackles for the game with teammates Ryan Casier and Robert Clanton getting five on their own.

For the winning Packers, Christian Wade was 7-of-14 passing and Wyatt Campbell scored a 4 yard touchdown to complement Smith’s phenomenal night.

Coach Jeff Breuker was not happy with his team missing 3 extra points and one field goal but credited his team with a nice come back in the second half.

The Packers are now 2-2 with victories the last two weeks.

“Our offensive line stepped up to the challenge and they finished strong and did well,” said Breuker.
