GRAND RAPIDS – The Muskegon Community College volleyball squad upped its record this past weekend to 21-5 after finishing 3-1 at the Raider Classic at Grand Rapids Community College.

The Jayhawks defeated Schoolcraft 27-25, 25-14, 25-17, but fell to Oakland 10-25, 18-25, 23-25, only to bounce back to beat Genesee 25-16, 25-20, 25-21.

MCC finished the weekend by downing Kishwaukee 25-19, 25-14, 25-15.

Meghan Birr finished the two-day tourney with 117 assists, 11 kills, four aces, 40 digs and eight blocks, while Beka German had 22 kills, 33 digs and nine blocks, and Amber Carmean totaled 61 digs and five aces.

Elyse Ray contributed 25 kills, five aces and 10 blocks, with teammate Brandie Jones finishing with 43 kills, seven aces and 33 digs, and Brooke Morgan added 12 aces and 37 digs for MCC.
