GRAND RAPIDS – The junior varsity team from Cornerstone University was no match Thursday for the Muskegon Community College mens soccer team, as the Jayhawks blanked the Golden Eagles 4-0.

Colin Sparks , assisted by Brandon Gillikin, got the Jayhawks on the board in the first 23 minutes of the match, and teammate  Zack Sutton grabbed an unassisted goal at the 40-minute mark.

Eric Hilt added an unassisted goal at 47 minutes, and Michael Hower, assisted by Brandon Rowell, notched a late score to provide the final result.

MCC goalkeeper Jacob Berens turned back the Golden Eagles’ lone shot-on-goal, while the Jayhawks finished with 15 shots.

MCC now sits at 10-1 overall, 9-1 in Region XII, and 5-0 in MCCAA.
