Matias Keyes’ interception with 12 seconds left sealed the 32-29 victory for Orchard View over Howard City Tri-County.
The Vikings had driven down to the Cardinals’ 18 before Keyes made his second interception of the night.
“A win is a win and we’ll take it,” said Orchard View head coach Joe Tannis. “Feels great to get the first win. We have a lot of stuff on film that we can correct and get better at, but we were able to get a lot of guys experience.”
Bobby Clanton led Orchard View’s ground attack with a pair of touchdown runs. Clanton finished with 111 yards rushing on 21 carries.
The Cardinals led 14-7 at halftime and jumped out 26-7 in the third quarter.
Quarterback Logan Duzan connected with Fred Waller and Devin Pascavage on touchdown passes.
Waller also had a touchdown run for the Cardinals.
