Muskegon Community College woke up in the second half of its women’s soccer match against Lake Michigan Community College on Wednesday.

The Jayhawks erupted with six second-half goals for a 6-0 victory and their first win of the season.

Linsye Haan scored two goals for MCC and put her team up 1-0 after she connected on a pass from Timera Crosby who slotted a through pass.

Alyssa Panozzo scored the first of her two goals off of a corner kick from Taylor Walker.

Amanda Whiting and Ashlee Taylor also added goals for the Jayhawks.

Goalkeeper Hayley Twigg posted the shut with four saves for MCC.

“MCc played a really slow and uninspired first half,” said Jayhawk coach Joshua Watson. “The second half was a totally different team and was encouraging for the rest of the season.”
