The Muskegon Lumberjacks announced affiliate goaltender Ryan Larkin has committed to the Miami (Ohio) University Redhawks.

Miami (Ohio) plays in the newly-formed National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC). Larkin will join the Redhawks following his junior career.

Larkin, the Clarkston native, was the Lumberjacks’ 17th-round pick (248th overall) in the 2013 USHL Phase Two Draft. He spent the previous three seasons in the Honeybaked Hockey Program out of Detroit.  In the three seasons between the pipes for Honeybaked, Larkin has compiled a record of 21-17-6 to go along with seven shutouts, a 2.24 goals-against average, and a .885 save percentage.

Ryan is also the younger brother to Adam Larkin, who is currently in his first season as a defenseman for the Lumberjacks.

The Lumberjacks will hit the road again this Friday night to Ann Arbor for a 7 p.m. puck drop against the USNTDP Under-17 Team.

The home opener is Saturday against the Indiana Ice at 7:15 p.m.
