Oakridge survives upset scare at the hands of rival Ravenna

Top-ranked Oakridge survived an upset bid from rival Ravenna and earned a 31-27 West Michigan Conference win on Friday night.

The Eagles led 10-7 at halftime and scored 21 third-quarter points.

Austin Wright scored a pair of touchdowns on runs of 78 and 44 yards.

Gabe Zimmer added a 43-yard TD run for Oakridge, while James Albritis scored on a 4-yard run and Dan Shoop raced in from 56 yards for a score.

Brad Cook added a 31-yard field goal for the Eagles.

Jake Seid scored on runs of 3 and 2 yards for Ravenna and Gabe Zimmer added a 43-yard run.

Wright rushed 14 times for 291 yards for Oakridge and Shoop added 149 yards on 17 carries.

Wright was 7-of-16 passing for 115 yards, while Alex Torrenga caught two balls for 50 yards.

D.J. Bowen led the Oakridge defense with ten tackles.

Zimmer led Ravenna with 162 yards rushing for 162 yards and Sied was 10-of-20 passing for 179 yards.

Alex White caught four passes for 106 yards to lead Ravenna and Seth Morgan made seven tackles in the loss.
