Riley Kammeraad and Nick Rands each scored a pair of goals that sparked Muskegon Community College to a 4-0 win over Lakeland Community College.

Kammeraad put the Jayhawks (2-1, 2-1) on the board 15 minutes into the game on a goal assisted by Zachary Suton and Eric Hilt. Kammeraad added his second goal with two minutes left in the game on a Chris Saunders pass.

Nick Rand did his part with a goal right off of a corner kick to give MCC a 2-0 lead 20 minutes before halftime. Rand gave the Jayhawks a 4-0 lead with one minute remaining on a pass from Hector Chavez.

“Boys did a good job of possessing the ball today and being patient on offense,” said MCC head coach Ben Ritsema. “We slowly wore down Lakeland throughout the game, which shows by scoring two goals in the last two minutes of the game.”

The Jayhawks outshot Lakeland 10-5 as goalie Jacob Berens made fives saves in goal for the shutout.
