Fruitport edged out a tough Reeths-Puffer defense for a 1-0 boys soccer win on Friday.

Zach Gilson struck for the Trojans early in the second half off of a Andrew Frost assist.

“It was a classic goal for us,” said Fruitport coach Greg Kobylak.

“Ben Kramer, Matt Umstead, Nic Carrier, Nathan Strutevant and Jacob Dyer were great in their defensive roales.”

Conner Deneen posted the shutout in goal for Fruitport with nine saves.
