BIG RAPIDS – Last week, Hart defeated Montague 2-1 in the boys soccer semifinals for the West Michigan Conference tournament.
The result was the same – a 2-1 Hart win over the Wildcats – at Thursday’s Div. 4 district semifinal match. It’s just that, this time the Pirates would need double overtime to do it.
Hart got a late goal from Boni Hernandez to push the match to extra frames, where the Pirates bagged six goals to Montague’s five to win the eventual shootout.
For the third time in three years, Hart moves on to face host Big Rapids Crossroads Academy – which downed Walkerville 8-0 in Thursday’s other semifinal match – at Friday’s district finals.
