MUSKEGON – Thursday night saw a match-up between two Top 10 community college volleyball squads.

And in the end, No. 8 dominated No. 7.

The eighth-ranked Muskegon Community College volleyball team got the better of Grand Rapids Community College, as the Jayhawks defeated GRCC in four games, 25-19, 16-25, 31-29, 25-16.

The Jayhawks’ record now sits at 10-1.

MCC was paced by Meghan Birr, who finished with 53 assists, 23 digs and three blocks, while Beka German totaled 13 kills, 20 digs and two blocks, and Elyse Ray contributed 14 kills and three blocks.

Brandie Jones had 18 Kills, 21 digs and two blocks for MCC, with Autumn Winger finishing with seven kills and two blocks, Lindsey Kotecki totaling four kills and five digs, and Amber Carmean had 26 digs.

Brooke Morgan added 11 digs in the win.
