Keegan George scored three goals on Thursday night and led the Spring Lake Lakers to a 4-1 nonleague soccer victory over the host Western Michigan Christian Warriors.

George scored two goals in the opening half and one in the second half to lead the way. Tanner Debien also scored a goal for the Lakers (10-6-3).

George scored on a breakaway just 4 1/2 minutes into the game to give the visitors an early lead.

Just 10 minutes later, WMC senior Chaise Schuiteman unleashed a low, wicked shot off a rebound to tie the game.

George scored off a header with 16 seconds left in the first half and completed his hat trick 12 minutes into the second half.

With 3:10 remaining  in the game, Kyle Zietlow banged a shot off the post and the rebound slid to Debien, who buried a shot in the back of the net.

Spring Lake had a 12-8 advantage in shots.

WMC (9-8-1) opens Division 4 district action at home at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday against Fruitport Calvary Christian.
