SPARTA – After going 2-0 in pool play, the Kent City Eagles fell in two games to Big Rapids in the quarterfinals of Saturday’s Sparta Volleyball Tournament.

The Eagles dispatched Muskegon Catholic Central 19-25, 25-20, 25-8, and Tri-County 16-25, 25-14, 25-17 in pool play to advance to the quarters.

Once there, Big Rapids dispatched the Eagles 25-22, 25-18.

Brandi Boehm led Kent City with 16 kills, four blocks, 21 points and five aces, with teammate Kelsey Krueger contributing 10 kills, 27 digs, 19 points and four aces, and Justine Wolter had 15 kills, two blocks and 27 digs.

Kassidy Heeringa totaled 24 assists and three blocks, while Kayleigh Harley finished with 20 assists, 17 points and four aces, and Olivia Harrison added one block for the Eagles.

Kent City is now 19-8.
