KENT CITY – NorthPointe Christian scored 17 second half points to pull out a 24-18 nonconference win over host Kent City Friday night.

The Eagles trailed 7-6 at halftime before giving up 10 third quarter points.

Chad Brown scored on a 1-yard run to start the fourth quarter, as Kent City pulled within 17-12. The Mustangs would score with seven minutes left in the game and after the Eagles’ Tyler Ergang recovered a fumble in the endzone to cut the score to 24-18, Kent City wouldn’t threaten again.

Kent City’s Jake Krueger, who threw a 9-yard TD pass to Kyle Boyd in the second quarter, finished 9-of-18 passing for 147 yards. Boyd finished with 3 receptions for 86 yards and Brown had 13 carries for 142 yards.

KJ Herremans led the Eagles defense with 21 tackles and a sack, Boyd made 12 stops and Ergang finished with 10 tackles.
