Ludington made its soccer fans hold their breaths on Saturday in the Division 3 district finals, beating Big Rapids 2-1 in a dramatic overtime shootout.
Four Orioles scored in the shootout, while just one scored for Big Rapids. clinching the title for the Orioles.
Ludington advances to next week’s Division 3 regional tournament.
Zac School tallied Ludington’s lone goal in regulatio nwith an assist from Alessandro Foglietta. The teams were tied 1-1 at the end of two halves and two overtime periods, leading to the shootout.
Josh Jensen posted the win in goal for Ludington.
