The Muskegon Lumberjacks were not fazed when the host Lincoln Stars battled back from a 3-1 deficit on Saturday night.

Instead, the Lumberjacks received a goal from Matt Mendelson with 7:40 remaining in the third period and captured a 4-3 USHL victory over the Stars.

Muskegon raced to a 3-1 lead on the strength of goals by Haralds Egle, Mason Jobst and Matt Iacopelli. Jobst’s goal was scored unassisted.

But when the Stars scored two straight goals to erase the deficit and tie the game, the Jacks went back to work.

The outcome made a winner of goaltender Eric Schierhorn, who raised his record to 5-2-0.

Assists on the Lumberjack goals were credited to Frederik Tiffels, Jobst, Trevor Morbeck and Cooper Marody.

Muskegon outshot Lincoln 36-31.
