Newaygo improved to 7-1 on the season with a 61-22 win over Big Rapids in a CSAA game on Friday night.

The Lions jumped out to a 20-0 lead and never looked back.

Reo Heinzman scored three times for the Lions and Bret Korytkowski and Zack Knight added two scores apiece for Newaygo.

Heinzman scored on runs of 10 and 11 yards and returned an interception 14 yards for a score.

Korytkowski had scoring runs of 36 and 20 yards and Knight rushed for scores from 18 and 44 yards.

Weston Butler’s 3-yard run and Brandon Foster’s 4-yard run completed the scoring for the Lions.

Korytkowski rushed 12 times for 130 yards to lead the Lions and Knight added 78 yards on five carries.

Butler was 3-of-6 passing for 47 yards and Foster added 11 tackles.
