Spring Lake walked away with three wins at the Oakridge volleyball quad on Tuesday. The Lakers topped Ravenna, Orchard View and Oakridge.
The biggest challenge of the night came for Spring Lake in the first and second sets against Ravenna. The Lakers fought off a deficit to win Game 1 25-23, but fell 25-21 in Game 2. The final game was 15-12 in favor of Spring Lake.
“We had to come back in the first set to win,” said Spring Lake coach Sarah Bulthuis. “We missed a few too many serves in set 2 and had some hitting errors, but set 3 we buckled down to get the job done.”
Spring Lake went on to down Orchard View 25-12, 25-12. The Lakers won a tough Game 1, 25-22 in their match with Oakridge. In Game 2 Spring Lake won 25-16.
