Whitehall advances, Ludington falls in Division 3 regional soccer

Two quick second half goals led Whitehall to a 3-2 win over Tawas Area in the regional semifinals.

Andrew Jennings gave the Vikings a 2-1 lead early in the second half and Mikkel Float added a second goal less than 1 minute later for a 3-1 lead.

Jennings put Whitehall on the board early in the first half before Tawas Area was able to respond for a 1-1 halftime score.

Hayden Collins posted the win in goal for Whitehall, which will face Traverse City Christian at 6 p.m. on Thursday in Big Rapids.

Traverse City Christian downed Ludington in the earlier semifinal game, 3-1.

Ludington fell behind 3-0 by halftime and couldn’t dig itself out from the deficit.

Malcolm Thompson scored the Orioles lone goal early in the second half.
