CADILLAC – The Grant Tigers fell just short of reaching the state quarterfinals following Thursday’s three-set loss to Cadillac in the Class  B regional finals match.

Cadillac won 25-23, 25-17, 25-15, and now moves on to face Saginaw Swan Valley, which outlasted Essexville Garber in five sets, at Tuesday’s quarterfinal match in Battle Creek.

Summer Schuitema was outstanding in the loss, leading Grant with 15 kills, 33 digs and 10 assists, while Dayna Wood had 25 digs and five kills for the Lions, and Sierra Schuitema totaled 12 assists, five kills and 18 digs in the defeat.

Emily Gabrielse added 14 digs for Grant.

The Tigers finish the season with an overall record of 36-12.
