GRAND HAVEN – Mona Shores dominated OK Black rival Reeths-Puffer at Monday’s Class A district volleyball opener, defeating the Rockets 25-16, 26-24, 25-13.

The Sailors advance to Wednesday’s semifinal to face host Grand Haven in the late match.

The other side of the bracket had Kenowa Hills defeating Grand Rapids Union in three games. The Knights will face Muskegon at Wednesday’s semifinal opener.

Joelle Fisher led the Sailors with 13 kills and three blocks, while Courtney Brewer had seven kills and 12 digs , Kelsey Wolffis had eight kills, Kennedy Potts had 16 digs, and Jordyn Vilneff and Sadie Vela combined for 31 assists for Mona Shores.

The Rockets’ Kori Ames had 11 points and 10 digs, while Sierra Young had four kills and seven digs, and Kate Uganski totaled 12 assists in the loss.
