Local Sports JournalThe Muskegon Community College men’s basketball team opened the season in style Friday with a 93-67 victory over the e Bible College junior varsity team.
The Jayhawks built a 12-point halftime lead and pulled away after that.
Sophomore forward Rashard Donely led MCC with 29 points and eight rebounds. Marquise Hatter added 20 points, 11 assists and four rebounds while Jake Anderson had nine rebounds and four blocked shots.
Grace Bible had a balanced attack with four players scoring in double figures. Kenny Vernon and Ben Kronemeyer led the effort with 14 points apiece.
The Jayhawks play next again next Thursday against the Aquinas College junior varsity.
