Shelby downs Montague in semifinal volleyball match

HESPERIA – The Shelby Tigers wasted little time at Wednesday’s Class C district semifinal match versus Montague, defeating the Wildcats in three-straight sets, 25-12, 25-14, 29-27.

Shelby will face White Cloud, who defeated Hart 3-0 in the other semifinal, at Friday’s district finals.

Shelby was led by Hannah DeBois’ 14 kills and 24 digs, while Kaylee Smith finished with 21 points and an ace, and Tristen Moore had 18 points, five aces and 12 kills for the Tigers. Jozilyn Kinstener add five blocks and 30 digs in the victory.

Sarah Harrie had six kills and three blocks in the loss, while Sierra Armstrong finished with 13 digs in the loss.
