GR Union blasts Heights girls in non-league girls hoops

MUSKEGON HEIGHTS – There was no stopping Grand Rapids Union (2-0, 0-0) Thursday night, as the Red Hawks outscored host Muskegon Heights (0-3) 21-8 in the first half, and 34-15 in the final two frames to come away with the decisive 55-23 victory in non-league girls basketball.

Three Union players, Fayth Talbert (14 points), Sam Lesatz (11 pts.) and Tyra Williams (10 pts.) scored in double digit in the blowout win.

The Heights was led by Rodrica Jefferson’s nine-point performance ,while teammates Frendreka Watkins-Oliver and Matiece Jones both added five points in the loss.
