Local Sports JournalIt’s too early to tell whether the Grand Haven girls basketball team is headed for another magical season.

But the two-time defending Class A state champions are off to a great start, following a 41-26 victory over defending Lakes 8 champion Ludington Tuesday in non-league action.

Grand Haven improved to 3-0 on the young season and extended its winning streak to 54 straight games. Ludington dropped to 2-1.

The Bucs raced to a 19-9 halftime lead and never looked back. They were paced by
Taylor Craymer, who had 18 points, six steals and five rebounds. Amanda Merz chipped in 10 points, six rebounds and seven assists while Emily Sexton added six points and four steals.

Kalli Wahr had 10 points for Ludington.
