HOLTON – The host Red Devils took control early Monday night versus Newaygo, running out to a 12-5 first-quarter lead over the Lions.

And Holton never looked back, cruising to the 48-40 win over the Lions in Central States Activities Conference girls basketball action.

Getting a game-high 14 points and 10 rebounds from Rachel Younts, the Red Devils matched Newaygo’s 18 point fourth-quarter effort, posting 20 of their own to ward off any chance for a Lion comeback.

Holton also picked up 12 points from Katie Wildfong, with teammate Jacki Stone adding 11 points and six assists in the win.

Riley Knight and Madi Giese each finished with 12 points to pace Newaygo.
