The Muskegon Community College mens basketball team led Mid-Michigan Community College for most of the game Thursday, before losing the edge in the final minute and dropping an 83-81 decision.

The Jayhawks led by six points at halftime, but were stung by numerous turnovers down the stretch. They lost their lead for the first time of the entire game with less than a minute remaining, and two MCC shots from underneath missed the mark in the last five seconds.

MCC had a 41-27 edge in rebounding.

Rashard Donley led the Jayhawks with 24 points and nine rebounds. Jake Anderson added 19 points, Marquise Hatter had 14 while Tyiwan Jones totaled 10 points and eight rebounds.

Mid-Michigan’s Eric Layton had 20 points.
