Several local athletes have been named to the 2013 Muskegon All-Area high school girls swimming and diving team.

Winning first team honors were Stephanie Shantz of Grand Haven in the 100 fly, Paige Rubleski of Spring Lake in diving, Jennifer Meulenbelt of Spring Lake in the 200 intermediate and Megan Peel of Spring Lake in the 200 freestyle.

Taking second team honors were Mackenzie Landman of Grand Haven (100 freestyle), Kara Komarek of the combined Muskegon Catholic/North Muskegon team (100 fly), Makayla Boyinak of Spring Lake (diving), Carson Middlebrook of Ludington (200 intermediate),  and Kate Armstrong of Grand Haven (200 freestyle).

Also making the second team were Maggie Ginocchio, Abby Poort, Stephanie  Shantz and Mackenzine Landman of Grand Haven in the 200 medley relay.

Taking honorable mention in the 200 medley relay were Spring Lake’s Meghan Peel, Jennifer  Meulenbelt, Sophie Conroy and Ellen Hyde. Also gaining honorable mention status were Kara Komarek of MCC/North Muskegon (200 freestyle and 200 intermediate), Ellen Hyde of Spring Lake (50 freestyle) and Brianna Bush of Mona Shores/Reeths-Puffer (diving).
