The brand new high school basketball season is underway, and teams throughout the area are hitting the court with dreams of conference, district and state championships dancing in their heads.
Local Sports Journal is ready to guide you into the new season with its 2013-14 prep basketball preview section.
The special hoops section, in newsprint form, hit West Michigan stores and newsstands this week. It can be purchased at all local Plumbs grocery stores, as well as selected retailers throughout the area. The price is a mere $3, and all proceeds will help the staff at Local Sports Journal maintain its coverage of area high school athletes for another season.
The section features preview stories about every area high school girls and boys team, complete with full rosters, schedules, photos and information about the new season.
Can the Grand Haven girls team do the unthinkable and win a third straight Class A state championship? Who’s going to win the annual tug-of-war for the West Michigan Conference title between the Oakridge and Shelby girls teams?
Will the resurgent Muskegon High School boys team make a long drive into the state tournament? Will the Muskegon Heights Academy boys team, with a still unfamiliar school name but the same basketball tradition, build on its impressive 17-win performance from last season?
