Luke Vanboxel scores 29 points to lead Montague to first basketball win of the season over Orchard View

Tough first half defense led Montague to its first win of the season. The Wildcats beat Orchard View 61-49.

Montague (1-1) held OV to single digits in the first and second quarters and led 28-14 at halftime.

Luke VanBoxel led the Wildcats with 29 points. Chayce Lohman scored 14 points, Mike Meekhof had eight rebounds and Jacob Buchberger had four steals.

Brandon Edwards paced OV (0-2) with 17 points and five assists. Bobby Clanton had nine points and eight rebounds, Steven Reese added nine points and Makari Taylor chipped in eight points.
