The Muskegon Community College women’s basketball team moved to 3-1 on the year by defeating Schoolcraft 80-45 Friday.

The Jayhawks raced to an early 25-5 lead and cruised to the victory. They used a strong defensive effort to hold the Ocelots to 26% shooting from the floor.

MCC’s Krystal Geers scored 17 points and had eight rebounds in the first half en route to a 25 point, 10 rebound double- double. Sonnie Kurnat added 19 points, seven assists and five rebounds while Katie McKinnon had 11 points and eight rebounds off the bench.
