Muskegon Community College’s defense dominated at Alpena Community College’s annual Thanksgiving Tournament. The Lady Jayhawks downed Alpena 95-50 in Friday’s opener and went on to rout Schoolcraft College 80-45 on Saturday.

Against Schoolcraft, Krystal Geers led MCC with 25 points, 10 rebounds and three steals. Sonnie Kurnat nailed five 3-pointers and finished with 19 points, seven assists and five rebounds while Katie McKinnon had 11 points and eight rebounds.

Jasmine Jackson nearly tallied a double-double in MCC’s win over Alpena. Jackson led with 15 points, 14 rebounds and eight blocks. Geers finished with 13 points and eight rebounds and McKinnon had 13 rebounds.

Alli Wierda scored 14 points while Kurnat had five steals and five assists. Quanieshia McBride led MCC in assists with six.
