Muskegon Lumberjack forward Scott Pooley will be taking his hockey skills to Holy Cross following the completion of his junior hockey career.

Pooley, a native of Granger, Ind., will be playing for the Crusaders in the Atlantic Hockey Association.

He is in his first season with the Lumberjacks and has 16 points (8 goals and 8 assists) to go along with a plus-two rating in 27 games played. He was a free agent pick up by the Lumberjacks before the team’s regular-season opener back in September.

“When talking with my family, we agreed that it was a tremendous opportunity for me both academically and athletically to attend Holy Cross,” Pooley said.  “It was always my goal to get back out to the East Coast where I grew up (in North Providence, Rhode Island), so it’s a perfect fit for me in the end.”

Prior to coming to Muskegon, Pooley spent the 2012-13 season with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons out of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) recording 25 points (14 goals and 11 assists) in 58 games played.  Before playing in Alberta, Pooley spent two seasons with the Chicago Mission Under-18 Team from 2010-12.
