Orchard View opens girls basketball season with convincing win over Montague

Orchard View used a big first quarter to pull away from Montague in a season opening 58-41 on Tuesday night.

The Cardinals outscored Montague 14-5 in the opening quarter and increased their lead to 32-15 at halftime.

Jayshonna Blackshire led OV with 18 points and Daejia Hill and Precious Anderson scored 11 apiece.

Elisha Stone grabbed 10 rebounds for OV.

Morgan Shugars led Montague with nine points, Hailey Cockerill added eight and Katie Webster scored seven.

Shugars added five assists for Montague.
