PENTWATER – The Pentwater boys hoops team has struggled so far this season with first-half scoring.

But the inevitable broke Friday night as the Falcons outscored non-conference rival Hart 28-16 in the first half to cruise to their first win of the season.

Leading 11-8 after one, host Pentwater (1-3) opened things up in the second quarter, turning a three point lead into a 12 point lead.

Hart (0-3)  somewhat recovered in the second half, totaling 21 points in the fourth quarter, but the damage was done.

Senior Falcon guard Sam Wagner led the way with 13 points, four steals and two assists, while brother Alex Wager added 12 points and three steals and Nick Anscombe had 10 points and six boards in the win.

Senior Brandon Amstutz scored a game-high 15 points in the losing effort, while senior teammates Conner Bonudy and James Freeman added 11 for Hart.
