FREMONT – Spring Lake cruised into Fremont Friday night looking to start the season off right, and cruised away with the 46-35 victory over Fremont in Lakes 8 girls basketball action.

Kelsee Zuidema’s eight points the Lakers outgunned the host Packers 25-9 in the first quarter, and held the 35-16 half-time lead.

Zuidema went on to score a team-high eleven points, while Emily Van Wingen totaled eight points, and Reiko Johnson added seven as six Lakers had five points or more in the win.

Fremont’s Kenzie Zuchowski had a game high 14-point effort , while teammate Hailey Lenzky added 12 in the loss.

Spring Lake sits at 1-0, 1-0 while Fremont drops to 0-2.
