Spring Lake’s Courtney Kyser will be taking her volleyball talents to Spring Arbor University next fall.

Kyser, a 5-foot-10 middle hitter/block, signed a letter of intent on Tuesday afternoon at Spring Lake High School.

Spring Arbor is an NAIA school that competes in the Crossroads League.

She plans to study graphic design or art education with a minor in Spanish at Spring Arbor.

Besides her skills on the volleyball court, Kyser is a co-captain of the Lakers’ varsity basketball team, a member of the National Honor Society and plays in the marching and jazz bands.

She was all-conference honorable mention as a junior.

This past season, she was a co-captain, first-team all-conference, All-State honorable mention and helped the Lakers win their first district title since 1996 and the first SL team to compete in the regional finals.

She had 263 kills, 122 blocks, 70 aces and 292 service points this past season.
