Grant girls remain winless after narrow loss to Tri-Unity

The Grant girls basketball team is going to get a win this season.

It just wasn’t going to happen Tuesday night versus Tri-Unity Christian (3-5).

The Tigers (0-8) outscored the host Defenders 19-18 in the final frame, but it wasn’t enough. Tri-Unity led 16-10 after three quarters before both exploded to combine for 37 points in the final stanza.

Grant’s Cheyanna Freeman led the way with 10 points, while teammate Laura Bouwkamp added nine in the loss.

Tri-Unity’s Sarah Buffum finished with a game-high 14 points.
