Mona Shores defense and a strong first half enabled the Sailors to roll past Grand Rapids Union for a 52-16 O.K. Black girls basketball conference win.

The Sailors led 30-11 at half and held Grand Rapids Union to just five second half points.

Valparaiso bound Jasmyn Walker led the Sailors with 15 points, three assists, five rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Walker was honored at halftime for becoming the all-time leader in rebounds at 743. Allison Wolffis had held the record at 719.

Amy Gillings added 11 points and six steals while Jordan Walker had nine points, nine steals and four rebounds. Saddie Vela chipped in six points for Mona Shores.
