A strong first quarter and second half helped the Muskegon girls basketball team defeat Zeeland East Friday night 43-31 in an OK Black conference game.
The Big Reds (6-4) started the game with an 8-2 lead after the first quarter and led 34-25 lead after the third quarter.
Mardrieka Cook led the Big Reds with 10 points.
Zeeland East (1-7) was led in the game by Danielle Schutte with 12 points and seven rebounds.
