Things were looking good for the visiting Newaygo Lions Tuesday night at Morley Stanwood.

Then the fourth quarter happened.

Host Morley Stanwood (8-1) outscored Newaygo 23-16 in the final frame to capture the 66-63 victory in Central States Activities Conference boys basketball action.

Morley Stanwood led by one, 29-28, after two quarters, but Newaygo (5-3) seized the lead in the third.

The Mohawks’ Tim Cainduff scored a game-high 27 points and dished out seven assists, and teammate Andrew Sackett poured in 19 more, with four blocks to boot, in the win.

Three Newaygo  players – Kyle Wright, Heath Harrington and Dakota Queen – led the Lions with 13 points.
