Senior center Bernard Smith poured in 28 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead the Western Michigan Christian Warriors to a 59-42 nonleague basketball victory over the host Oakridge Eagles.

Smith, who is closing in on 1,000 career points, scored eight points in the opening quarter and 10 more in the third quarter.

Jacob Ray scored 11 points and James Godwin had nine points for the Warriors (9-5). Ray had seven rebounds and senior Alex Rop had six rebounds, dished out five assists and had four steals.

Dom Greenawalt and Austin Wright led Oakridge with 10 points each.

WMC led 15-6 at the first stop and 26-15 at the half. The lead increased to 45-27 after three quarters.
