Grand Haven girls sneak past Rockford in OK Red basketball, 33-31

ROCKFORD — The Grand Haven Lady Buccaneers built up a 16-8 halftime lead and then hung on to turn back the Rockford Rams 33-31 in a makeup OK Red girls basketball game Saturday, Feb. 8.

Amanda Merz had 13 points and Taylor Craymer 10 for Grand Haven, now 12-3 overall. The victory boosted Grand Haven to 4-2 in the OK Red race.

Traverse City slipped to 4-3 in league games and 7-8 overall.

Grand Haven will return to action Tuesday by playing at Grand Rapids West Catholic. The Lady Buccaneers also will play at Grandville on Wednesday, Feb. 12 and then host Rockford again on Friday, Feb. 14.
