North Muskegon falls short in Class C girls district title game against Holland Black River

A strong second quarter led the Holland Black River girls basketball team to a win over 53-31 win over North Muskegon on Friday night 53-31 in a Class C district title game at Fennville High School. 

Holland Black River jumped out to a 28-16 halftime lead after outscoring North Muskegon 15-3 in the second quarter.  Holland Black River ended the game with a strong 17-8 fourth quarter run.

“In the second quarter, NM started to have trouble with their press, and started committing turnovers.” said North Muskegon Coach Doug Clark. “We hung around and felt we were within striking distance in the first half, despite being down by 12.”

Keah Brown led North Muskegon with 10 points while Maggie Karaba added eight points.  Abby Clark had eight rebounds and four assists.

Holland Black River will play Gobles in the Regional semi-finals.
