Oakridge earned a share of the girls West Michigan Conference basketball championship Friday night with a 45-26 win over Shelby.

The win secured Oakridge’s fifth league championship in the last six years.

A big first quarter helped the Eagles earn the win.

Oakridge led 19-6 after one quarter and 23-12 at halftime.

“We had that big outburst and the shots were falling,” said Oakridge coach Terry DeJonge. “Shelby switched defenses and we had to adjust.”
