Shelby boys down rival Hart to log another West Michigan Conference victory

A 16-5 first quarter run led to a 58-39 victory for the Shelby boys basketball team on Friday night over Hart in a West Michigan Conference game.

The Tigers led at halftime 31-18 and after three quarters 47-28.

Andrew Beckman led the Tigers with 12 points and eight rebounds.  Caleb Anderson added 11 points, while Jason Beckman had nine points.

Gil Colon led the Pirates in a losing effort with 14 points.  Brandon Amstutz and James Freeman added seven points each.

Shelby is currently in first place in the West Michigan Conference with a 12-1 record.

Whitehall sits one game behind at 11-2, Mason County two games back at 9-3.
