The Western Michigan Christian Warriors scored early and often and cruised to a 77-35 victory over the host Grand River Prep Titans on Friday night.

The victory pushed WMC’s record to 6-1 in the league race with one game remaining. That means Friday night’s victory clinches the Warriors at least a share of the league title.

WMC (6-1, 11-5) led 20-11 after one quarter, which was highlighted by a 3-pointer at the buzzer by Alex Rop that came 6 feet beyond the midcourt line.

The Warriors added 27 more points in the second quarter and took a 47-25 lead into the half.

Bernard Smith led WMC with 22 points and eight rebounds. Jacob Ray added 10 points and Derrick Holt had nine points. Eight Warriors scored at least five points each.

Jon Lampani led Grand River Prep with 19 points.
