Whitehall finished its regular season with a win over cross river rival Montague in girls basketball on Thursday. The Vikings topped the Wildcats 56-40.

Whitehall’s Emily MacArthur and Jenna Pesch were too much for Montague as the duo combined for 37 points. MacArthur finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds and Pesch put up 19 points.

The Vikings used a 17-11 first quarter edge and built it into a 32-17 halftime lead.

“We did not play our best tonight, but we at least ended up with another victory in the conference,” said Whitehall coach Rachel Kent. “We need to refocus ourselves as we head into Districts on Monday.”

Brandi Balzer also led Whitehall with 12 points and 10 rebounds while Janelle Uganski had three assists.

Montague was paced by Morgan Shugars with 12 points and Abby Christmas’ eight points. Meghan Olson scored six points and Hailey Cockerill chippded in five.
