Hailey Hrynewich

Hailey Hrynewich has quickly show shown she wants to lead the Ohio University women’s golf program.

The freshman shot a final-round 73 and finished third overall with a 218 (+2) at Morehead State’s Ocala Spring Invitational.

The third-place finish for Hrynewich is her career best and tops for an Ohio golfer since Angela Codian (Massillon, Ohio) place second at the Dayton Fall Invitational in 2012.

Hrynewich’s second round was her best effort of the three-day event at the Juliette Falls golf Resort. The Mona Shores grad shot an even-par 72 which tied her 18-hole career best.

The Bobcats finished with a 306 in the final round which rounded their total to a 920 and a 10th place finish. Daytona State College took first place with an 889.

Ohio resumes action on April 4-5 at the Lady Colonel Classic in Richmond, Ky.
