Muskegon Heights advances to Class C district semifinals with win over Saugatuck.

Aaron Sydnor and Eddie Tornes led the Muskegon Heights Academy to a Class C district opening win over Saugatuck 72-59 on Monday night in boys basketball.

Sydnor led the Tigers with 20 points and four steals, four assists and two blocks in the game. Tornes added a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

The Tigers jumped out to a 33-25 lead at halftime and led through three quarters 54-39.

Antonio Jones also had a strong game for the Tigers with 11 points and Marquise Grissom added eight points and 11 rebounds.

Saugatuck was led by Michael Winowiecki with 21 points and Joey Koscielski with 14 points.

Muskegon Heights Academy will play Holland Black River on Wednesday in the district semifnals.
